Statement

My art practice spans drawing and painting, bookworks, installation, video, community collaboration and performance.

I am interested in both the sensual and the intellectual aspects of consciousness; self and other; the symbolic language of eros; desire, gender and power. Space and form, the usual human obsessions.

I wonder where to draw the line. What the body is-and what it is not.

How the line moves. Gesture.

Where line extends to. Place.

What line appears as. Form.

I am fascinated by "the space between", relationship in the widest sense, the psychological dynamics that occur within human interaction and proprioception- body knowledge.

My research focuses on the strategies, limitations and methodologies involved in cycles of creative practice, the role and significance of error within the making process and issues around knowing/not-knowing.
